Ana Filomena Antunes Pereira Gomes da Silva born in 1990, in Oporto, Portugal. In 2008 won the 1st Prize of Guilhermina Suggia Competition wich alllowed her to play in the famous Montagnana (Cremona, 1700) cello that belonged to the cellist Guilhermina Suggia (spouse of Pablo Casals). In the same year won the 1st Prize for Strings Conservatory of Music in Oporto. She Began her musical studies at age of 6 under the guidance of Professor Vincente Chuaqui cello soloist of Oporto Symphonic Orchester Casa da Música and student of Janos Starker and Natalia Shakovskaya. At age of 8 she entered at the Oporto Conservatory of Music in class of the same professor. She finished her 5th grade with 19 values and concluded her studies in Conservatory of Music with the highest score. In 2008 she entered in School of Music and the Performing Arts (ESMAE) in 1st place in the class of Jed Barahal. Finished her Licenciature in the same University with one of the highest scores and distinction. Also in 2008, received the 3rd ex aequo prize in Alto Minho Strings Competition. She made several recitals in nationally renowned concert halls in Portugal, such as Casa da Música, Centro Cultural de Belém, Casa das Artes, Museu Romântico, Museu Guerra Junqueiro,Teatro Campo Alegre, Congress Centre of the Medical Association and many schools and Music Conservatories. She made also several appearances in Spain and Italy. She was a member of Orchestra of Conservatory of Music Oporto, OJ.COM who was selected by several consecutive years, ESMAE Sinfonieta Orchestra, Beiras Orchestra Philarmonic. With these Orchestras she played from North to South of Portugal and even in the Azores Archipelago and worked with several conductors such as André Martin, Ernst Schelle, Antonio Saiote, Vytautas Lucocius, Pius Salotto, Rui Massena, Kamen Goleminov, Nicholas Kok, Yuri Nasushkin among others. She participated in masterclasses in Portugal, Spain and Italy. She worked with cellist, Romain Garioud, Stefan Popov, cellist of Aaron Choi of Oporto Symphonic Orchester Casa da Música, Ilia Yourevich Laporev who was Natalia Shakovskaya, Ernst Reijseger, Filipe Quaresma, Carolina Landriscini, among others.
Nowadays she is a member of Lusitanae Ensemble CMSM / CMP and has played in several important events in Portugal. She is Master in Music Pedagogy, by University of Aveiro, also Cello Professor in Silva Monteiro Music School.
Currently has cello lessons in Paris with cellist Romain Garioud in Paris National School of L’ Hay les Roses and having private lessons with Stefan Popov pupil of Mstislav Rostropovich and won a medal in the International Tchaikovsky Competition and gold medal from the Moscow Conservatoire.
