Mr. Komachkov has performed in the most prestigious venues throughout the world, including the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, The Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow Philarmonic, The Moscow House of Music, The Maly and Rachmaninoff Halls (Moscow, Russia) among others. He has also performed as a soloist with numerous symphony and chamber orchestras including The Moscow Chamber Orchestra “Camerata” (dir.I.Frolov), The Orchestra of Bahía Blanca (Argentina), Chamber Orchestra “The Seasons” (dir.V.Bulakhov), Voronezh Symphony (Russia) (dir.V.Verbitskii), Novosibirsk Philharmonic (Russia), Bolshoi Theatre Orcherstra (dir.T.Currentzis and The Baku Philharmonic (Azerbaijan).
As a chamber musician he has toured throughout Russia and Republics of the former Soviet Union as well as in Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Yugoslavia, Argentina and South Korea.
Born in Moscow, Russia to a family of musicians, Mr. Komachkov graduated from Moscow State Gnessin Music School and later from Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He has studied cello with Valentin Feigin, Alexander Melnikov and Alexander Kniazev. His numerous prizes include I prize at All Russia Chamber Music Competition (Ryazan, Russia), I Prize at 14th International Music Competition Caltanissetta Province (Italy), II Prize at All Russia Cello Competition (Voronezh), Viotti International Music Competition (Vercelli, Italy) and the Trapani International Chamber Music Competition (Trapani, Italy).
Rustam Komachkov discography includes chamber works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Sviridov and Piazzola. He has been a featured artist for the Radio Music Channel (Estonia) and appeared on the 1st Channel Buenos-Aires TV (Argentina). Recently Mr. Komachkov released his solo CD with violin transcriptions for cello. Rustam has performed the premier in Russia of A.Karamanov’s simfony “Svershishasya” (dir.A.Kochnev). . .
