Lynn Harrell returns this season to Carnegie Hall with James Levine and the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, with surrounding recitals and concerts in Australia, Nova Scotia, and China. The summer months have his return to the festivals of Aspen, Ventura, La Jolla, and with the Eastern Music Orchestra, amongst others.

Other recent engagements include concerts with the Teatro di San Carlo Orchestra, a European tour with Riccardo Chailly and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, an Asian tour with concerts in Singapore and Taipei, and "at home" concerts in Los Angeles with the Philharmonic and Frubeck de Burgos, the Boston Symphony with Christoph Eschenbach for the world premiere of Augusta Read Thomas' Cello Concerto No. 3 "Legend of the Phoenix," and concerts in New York, Detroit, Edmonton, and the Tanglewood Festival.

A frequent guest of the world's greatest orchestras, he appears often with conductors such as James Levine, Sir Neville Marriner, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta , Sir Simon Rattle, Leonard Slatkin, Yuri Temirkanov and Michael Tilson Thomas.

Renown in recital and chamber music around the world, Lynn has collaborated with Anne-Sophie Mutter, Yuri Bashmet, Andre Previn, and recorded with Vladimir Ashkenazy, Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman and Nigel Kennedy. His critically acclaimed extensive discography of over 30 releases ranges from Bach to Walton, with several Grammy Award winners and world premieres amongst them.

Mr. Harrell is founder, director and Artist Ambassador (along with his wife, violinist Helen Nightengale) of the HEARTbeats Foundation, a Los Angeles based charity to reach out to children in need harnessing the power of music to enable them to better cope with, and recover from, the extreme challenges of poverty and conflict. Mr. Harrell serves as a board officer and Artist Ambassador and works directly with children in need.
